Heavy rains continue unabated in capital city; Orange alert in Thiruvananthapuram
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An orange alert was issued in the capital city as heavy rains continue unabated. IMD predicts heavy rains to lash the city in the coming hours. The Indian Meteorological Department defines very heavy rain as rainfall of 115.6 mm to 204.4 mm in 24 hours. A yellow alert has also been issued for Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Malappuram and Kozhikode districts today.
