'No time for jokes brother, please understand'; Tovino, Ranjini Haridas win praise for handling rude crowd

Social media is now discussing the events that unfolded during the promotional event of the movie ‘Athiradi’ in Kozhikode beach premises. Thousands were in attendance to watch actor Tovino Thomas and Basil Joseph, who were at Kozhikode as part of the event. Things took a different turn when the anchor announced through the mic that a few children who arrived at the event had gone missing in the crowd. It was informed that their panicked parents were searching for them.

This announcement from the anchor Ranjini Haridas was treated with boos by a certain section of the crowd. A triggered Ranjini kept her niceties aside and asked the section to respond maturely, considering the situation. Nothing worked as the boos returned.

This led to actor Tovino taking things into his hands as he took the mic from the anchor and read out the names of the missing children. Things didn’t change much as the ignorant section of the crowd passed jokes at the actor during this time.

“Friends, this is no time for jokes. Let’s help the distressed parents find their children. it is our responsibility,” said Tovino.

Social Media ruthlessly criticised the rude crowd for being flippant at a time of crisis. Anchor Ranjini and Tovinio were adulated by netizens for sensibly handling the issue despite being showered with jeers and scoffs.
