Special room for spiritual treatment, sexual assault on housewife during treatment; police register case

PALAKKAD: Police have registered a case against a person for sexually harassing a housewife during traditional spiritual treatment at Chalissery. Chalissery police have registered a case against Syed Hassan Koya (35) of Odampully house, a native of Karukaputhur.

On June 28, a housewife was sexually assaulted when she went to the house of the accused in Chalissery Karukaputhur to solve a family problem. There is a special room in the house of the accused for spiritual treatment. The incident took place in this room. The woman, who escaped from the room, later lodged a complaint with the Chalissery police.
