‘Conveyed my pains to leadership, I am a Muslim Leaguer'; Randathani clarifies stand
MALAPPURAM: Senior leader Abdurahiman Randathani said that he raised issues that the Muslim League leadership itself can consider and take a decision. Therefore, when the League gives an opportunity, it should be utilized and a solution should be found. Randathani told media that he spoke to senior leaders of the party yesterday.
‘I conveyed my grief and pains to the leaders. They listened very seriously and gave positive responses. I am communicating with the leaders. These are issues within the party. Not only dissatisfaction regarding the candidature, there are also some other issues within the party. I am a Muslim Leaguer. I still holds an official post in the party. I was only raising doubts,’ Randathani clarified.
Randathani stepped forward against Tirurangadi candidate P M A Sameer. Randathani alleged that Sameer was made a candidate for the interests of some people. He also criticized that Sameer was being fielded without the request of the League local committees or party workers. Meanwhile, the CPM also tried to bring Randathani to the Left camp and make him an independent candidate in Tirurangadi or Tanur. However, Randathani informed late last night that he would not leave the party. If Randathani, a member of the League state secretariat, had defected, the fight would have been a fierce one. After K T Jaleel, CPM's move to single out a key leader of the League and field him had failed.
