Smoke in Gujarat Titans bus, players including Gill evacuated

AHMEDABAD: The team bus of IPL 2026 finalists Gujarat Titans suffered a short circuit. The team was returning to the hotel after the final match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad when smoke started rising from the bus due to a short circuit. After realizing that there was a fire, the players and support staff were immediately evacuated from the bus. As soon as the incident happened, everyone was evacuated and no one was injured. They had to remain on the road for about an hour. The incident happened Sunday midnight.

The incident happened when the team members were returning to their hotel in Ahmedabad after losing to Royal Challengers Bangalore by five wickets. Earlier, Gujarat had reached the IPL final by defeating Rajasthan Royals in the second qualifier. The team's journey from Mullanpur to Ahmedabad for the final on May 30 was delayed. They reached Ahmedabad very late. The flight was delayed due to bad weather. As a result, the Titans were unable to practice the day before the match. On the other hand, their opponents, Royal Challengers Bangalore, were able to practice twice.
