‘No pardon, if murder was committed in Iran?’; Talal’s brother seeks fair punishment
SANA: Abdul Fattah Mahdi, brother of the slain Talal Abdu Mahdi, is against Iran's intervention in the Nimisha Priya case. Mahdi asked what would have happened if the murder was committed in Iran. His Facebook post shared news of Iran expressing willingness to intervene in the matter.
Abdul Fattah Mahdi is firm in his stand of a speedy and just punishment. He also criticized that the family's rights are being blocked through this. Meantime, Talal's brother had earlier stated that they would not give in to mediation efforts and that only justice is needed.
Nimisha Priya killed Talal Abdu Mahdi, a Yemeni citizen who approached her with help to start her own clinic while she was working as a nurse. She said the brutal torture towards her after seizing her passport led to the murder. Talal was killed after injecting an overdose of drugs. The body was then hidden in the water tank above the house.
