Painkuni festival: Thriuvananthapuram airport to suspend flights for five hours today

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Thiruvananthapuram airport will remain closed from 4.30 pm to 9 pm today as part of the Aarattu procession associated with the 10-day Painkuni festival of the Sree Padmanabha Swamy Temple. The procession will pass through the airport on Thursday evening.

The authorities had earlier informed passengers to check their revised travel times with their respective airlines, as there were changes in flight timings. Every year, the airport shuts operations for five hours on the day of the Aarattu procession of the Sree Padmanabha Swamy Temple.
