Three more snakebites reported in state, bitten by common krait

KOZHIKODE: Three more were bitten by snakes in the state on Monday. Those bitten by the snake are Anjali (36), daughter of Sivadasan of Kannipoyil Chitranjali at Perambra in Kozhikode, Muhammed Ansar (22) of Poonoor, Thamarassery and Bhuvana Chandran of Perunguzhi, Thiruvananthapuram. Anjali was bitten by a Commom Krait (Shankhuvarayan). The snake was later caught from the toilet of the house. Bhuvana Chandran was given antivenom. He is presently undergoing treatment at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.

Anjali sought treatment at the Perambra Taluk Hospital. She was later shifted to the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital for better treatment. Her family informed that she is out of danger Ansar was bitten by a snake this morning. The bite marks were noticed when he saw the snake in the bed and examined it. He is also undergoing treatment at the medical college hospital.

Meantime, five venomous snakes were found inside a house at Kuttiady in Kozhikode. The incident happened at the house of Kapummal Ramesh in Kuttiyadi. The snakes were of the Common Krait (Shankhuvarayan) species. They were found in various rooms of the house. The family first found the snake in the bed where the children were sleeping. The snake was on the pillow side of the bed.

After this, the snake was found in the next room again. When entered the washroom, found a snake belonging to the Shankhuvarayan species. With this, searched the house with the help of neighbors. A total of five snakes were found. This is a house with painted walls and beautifully tiled floors. Still, the family is surprised to see poisonous snakes.
