Pep Guardiola's Man City chapter comes to an end

LONDON: English top-flight club Manchester City confirmed that their treble-winning coach Pep Guardiola will leave the club at the end of the season. After a decade with the club, Pep Guardiola, often ranked among peers as the greatest coach of all time, will walk in City colours for one last time in Etihad Stadium to manage the team against Aston Villa.

In the last game, City will honour the Spanish legend by opening the newly developed north stand named after him.

While responding to his exit news, Guardiola said, “Don’t ask me the reason. I know it is my time to leave. Nothing is eternal. Eternal is the feeling, the memories and the love for Manchester City.”

Pep Guardiola arrived at City after his time in Bayern Munich, which saw the German side lift the Champions League and Bundesliga for consecutive seasons. It is rumoured that Guardiola will next take special projects under City Football Group to identify and mould talents across Asia, Europe, Africa and America.
