CHENNAI: The employees of the Secretariat are surprised by the administration of Vijay, who was sworn in as the 12th chief minister of Tamil Nadu. Vijay arrives at the chief minister's office every day just like how a government official arrives. The staffs are watching his punctuality daily.

Vijay has been arriving earlier than the scheduled time for important government programmes and assembly proceedings for the past few days. On the day of the oath-taking ceremony, which was supposed to take place at 10 am at the Nehru Indoor Stadium, he reached the venue at 8.48 am. He reached the Secretariat at 8.45 am to attend the oath-taking ceremony of the MLAs, which was to be held in the assembly at 9.30 am the next day. On May 12, he reached the assembly at 8.55 am for the election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker. The ceremony was scheduled for 9.30 am. He reached the secretariat at 9 am before the trust vote on May 13.

With the three-day assembly session over, the chief minister reached the secretariat on Thursday and resumed his regular official duties. The chief minister, who reached the secretariat at 9.55 am, reportedly held discussions with officials till 4 pm. Along with this, he brings lunch from home and has it in the chief minister's room. It is said that officials and security personnel have appreciated Vijay's disciplined and simple approach to governance.
