Girls attacked in Kochi for questioning eve-teasing

KOCHI: A gang brutally attacked girls for questioning eve-teasing. The girls, who were walking on the road in Kaloor were assaulted. The girls' in the complaint said that they were brutally kicked and hit on the head. The injured girls have been admitted to Ernakulam General Hospital.

The incident happened at 4 am. Two female students were attacked when they were returning from their part-time jobs. A group of eight including six men and two women were standing on the road. They passed sexual comments at the girls who were walking. The group hurled abuses at the girls who were walking quickly. A woman in the group also asked the girls to come back. When they tried to film this, the group grabbed the phone and smashed it after throwing it to the ground, and brutally kicked one of the girls to the ground, and hit her on her head.

One has been seriously injured. The Ernakulam North Police has started an investigation into the complaint filed by the girls. The police have recorded the girls' statements. The police have concluded that the attackers may be residents of the same area where the incident happened. The police are also examining the CCTV footage from the area.
