Entry to swearing-in ceremony only till 9, govt seeks permission for VVIPs to sit on dais

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A UDF-led cabinet is taking office in the state today after 15 years. Chief Minister and 20 ministers will be sworn in. The function will begin at sharp 10 am. People was allowed to enter the central stadium where the swearing-in will take place only till 9 am. The government has asked the Lok Bhavan to allow entry to VVIPs on the stage, just like the Vijay government was sworn in in Tamil Nadu. As per the instructions given by the Lok Bhavan the other day, it was decided that only the Governor, the Chief Minister and the ministers would be allowed on the dais.

The protocol wing informed the Governor that the chief minister, ministers and the chief secretary would be allowed on the stage. The central stadium and its surroundings are presently packed with people from different parts of the state to watch the swearing-in ceremony. Initially, permission was given to 12,000 people to watch the function, but later it was increased to 15,000. The organizers have informed that the function will also be viewed on large screens for the convenience of the spectators.
