‘I am very much alive’: Abhilash Pillai slams death rumours
Screenwriter Abhilash Pillai has strongly criticised the spread of false rumours claiming that he had died in a road accident. In a Facebook post, Abhilash said several people contacted him after hearing the fake news and asked whether he was safe.
He also expressed concern about the impact such rumours could have on his family, especially his father, who recently underwent bypass surgery.
'Since this morning, many friends and media persons have been calling to ask if I am okay and where I am. Only then did I realise the reason. Many people received news yesterday that I had died in a vehicle accident,' Abhilash wrote.
He said he was unaware of the rumour because he had been suffering from severe fever and dizziness for the past three days and had reduced his phone usage.
'Even today, when I went to Welcare Hospital in Ernakulam to meet the doctor, I was very much alive,' he said sarcastically.
Abhilash also questioned the emotional impact such fake news could have on his family.
'What would be the condition of my father at home, who has undergone bypass surgery, if he sees such news?' he asked.
The screenwriter further stated that he knows the people behind the false campaign but does not have time to respond to them.
'This post is for the people who love me and know me. By God’s grace, I am completely fine. Thank you to everyone who called and checked on me,' he added.
