CHENNAI: With the eagerly awaited election results to be declared tomorrow, Tamil Nadu is set to witness resort politics. Superstar Vijay's Tamil film Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) is planning to shift the winning candidates to a resort. The New Indian Express reported that arrangements have been made for this in Poonjeri near Mahabalipuram.

After the exit poll results were released last Wednesday, Vijay had issued a statement asking the winning candidates to immediately reach the party headquarters in Panaiyur on May 4. Resort politics became active after this. Various exit poll results had predicted that the DMK alliance and TVK would get power. With this, Vijay, who is also the party president, stepped forward asking the winning candidates to move to the resort.

TVK organizes state-level leaders' meetings at this resort in Poonjeri. This resort can accommodate more than 100 people. It is also reported that Vijay sarcastically told the candidates, 'Don't go anywhere after winning the seat'. Vijay has asked his party's legal department to be prepared for all scenarios. He has also instructed the party's general secretary Aadhav Arjuna to represent the Election Commission to strengthen security to avoid any law-and-order problems on the counting day.

Meantime, exit polls predict that TVK will perform better than expected. The exit poll results of Axis My India are in favor of TVK. Following this, DMK's ally MDMK chief Vaiko came out to praise Vijay. Vaiko's statement said that Vijay's party will become a major political force. However, although TVK is likely to win crucial seats, most surveys indicate that DMK will come to power again. Reports estimate that the promises to the youth and the high polling percentage will favor Vijay.
