NEW DELHI: A protest took place in front of Kerala House in Delhi demanding that VD Satheesan be considered for the post of Chief Minister. The protesters arrived in a Haryana registration tempo traveller named 'Malayalees'. The protesters told Malayalam news channels that they would not vote for Congress again if VD Satheesan is not made the Chief Minister. The protest was held in front of Kerala House by a group of Malayalees who had arrived in Delhi after a vacation in Kashmir.

"We all like KC Venugopal. He is a great leader. But we need VD Satheesan as the Chief Minister. We saw the discussions on the news. If KC Venugopal contests in Irikkur, we will defeat him. We can assure everyone that. There is no need for an MP to resign and come to Kerala. VD Satheesan is a leader with determination," they said during the protest.

There is a strong public sentiment demanding that VD Satheesan be made the Chief Minister. Despite the DCC taking action against four people for holding a demonstration in Idukki the previous day in support of VD Satheesan, more demonstrations were held in Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, Kozhikode and Kannur districts. The AICC leadership is unhappy with the developments. A Congress worker has even threatened to commit suicide, thus pressuring the leadership to make VD Satheesan the Chief Minister.
