Youth kills woman for refusing love; accused dies in mob lynching

HYDERABAD: A youth murdered a woman for rejecting his love proposal. He was later mob lynched. The dead is Vaishnavi (21), a receptionist at a private school in Jadcherla, Telangana. The incident happened on Saturday evening in the middle of the road. The youth used to harass her regularly. He had proposed to her many times. The enmity for rejecting his love led him to take the drastic step.

He attacked her when she was going home after work. He stabbed her multiple times with a knife in her neck when she got down from the bus and was walking home. When he tried to flee after the attack, the locals caught him and assaulted him brutally. He sustained serious injuries and the police rushed him to a hospital but died while undergoing treatment.

The police said that his name is Teja and that his identity cards or mobile phone were not recovered from the spot. There are reports that the two had worked in the same school. The police added that more information about the accused is being collected.
