Carried for kilometres to hospital; five-year-old boy dies of fever in Edamalakkudy

IDUKKI: In a tragic incident, a five-year-old boy died of fever in Edamalakkudy. The deceased has been identified as Karthik, the son of Koodallarkudy native Moorthy and Usha.

The child who fell ill was carried on foot for several kilometres to the hospital at Mankulam. As his condition deteriorated, doctors referred him to the Adimali Taluk Hospital. However, the boy passed away on the way to Adimali. His body was carried back home through the forest by locals.
