Arjun Aayanki in preventive detention; taken into custody from resort in Kothamangalam
KOTHAMANGALAM: Arjun Aayanki, an accused in several criminal cases and a native of Kannur, and his group are in police custody. Arjun had reached the resort in Kothamangalam along with nine others. All of them have been taken into police custody. Arjun and his group reached the resort in three vehicles, including a luxury vehicle.
The police reached the resort based on a confidential information received. Reports say that they are being questioned at the Kothamangalam police station. The police are investigating why they came to the resort and whether they had any other plans. The police have found that the other two people taken into custody along with Arjun have close links with quotation-goonda gangs. No arrests have been recorded yet.
Meantime, Arjun Aayanki wrote on social media that he and his friends, who had come to Kothamangalam to attend a friend's wedding, were arrested from their accommodation at 4 am today and were unjustly taken to the Kothamangalam police station. Arjun said that he has not been involved in any case for three years and that he was taken after being told that he would be released after verification. Even after this time, they did not release me. Arjun wrote on Facebook that they are trying to find a reason to send him to jail.
