Cricket tournament dispute ends in murder; Man stabbed to death in Kumbadaje
KASARAGOD: An argument during a local cricket tournament ended in murder, shocking the locality of Kumbadaje in Kasaragod. A person was stabbed to death in Marpanadka under the Kumbadaje panchayat limits. B.K. Suresh (42), son of Koraga of Badru Kudlu house in Marpanadka, died in the incident. A case was registered against Kiran and Akhilesh in the incident. The incident took place near the high mast light at Marpanadka junction at around 9.25 pm on Sunday.
During a cricket tournament held at the Kumbadaje Grama Panchayat ground the other day, Suresh and the accused engaged in a heated argument. The ensuing enmity led to the murder. Suresh, who was standing at the Marpanadka junction, was stabbed with a knife by the first accused, Kiran. It is also said that Akhilesh assisted in the attack.
Suresh was immediately taken to the hospital, but his life could not be saved. Based on the complaint filed by Suresh's son, Subhash, the Badiyadka police registered a case of murder. An investigation was launched into the incident under the leadership of Badiyadka Inspector R.P. Anoop Krishna.
