Major bureaucratic reshuffle in Kerala: Six District Collectors transferred, key IAS postings announced
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In its first major bureaucratic overhaul since assuming office, the Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan-led government has ordered a sweeping reshuffle of the top IAS brass in Kerala, transferring six district collectors and repositioning several high-profile officials.
According to the official order, Rathan U. Kelkar, who was serving as the Chief Electoral Officer, has been appointed as the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister. In another key financial posting, Patil Ajit Bhagwatrao takes charge as the Secretary of the Finance Department, while P. B. Nooh has been appointed as the new State GST Commissioner.
Key Collectorate shifts and institutional postings
The reshuffle has significantly altered district administrations and state public sector undertakings:
- Arun K. Vijayan, formerly the Kannur District Collector, has been appointed as the Director of the Industries Department. He will additionally hold the charge of Managing Director of the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC).
- M. S. Madhavikutty, the Palakkad District Collector, has been transferred to take the helm as the new Kozhikode District Collector.
- K. Imbasekar, who was serving as the Alappuzha District Collector, has been reassigned as the Managing Director of the Kerala Water Authority (KWA).
- Prem Krishnan, the outgoing Pathanamthitta District Collector, has been moved to the capital as the Joint Secretary in the Health Department.
- A. Nizamudeen will replace him as the new District Collector of Pathanamthitta.
- Snehil Kumar Singh has been designated as the new Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.
