Man arrested for sexually abusing women met on matrimonial sites

KOCHI: A man has been arrested for sexually abusing a 59-year-old woman on the pretext of marriage. The man identified as Santhosh Jose of Kasaragod was taken into custody by the Ernakulam North Police. Police said that his manner was to establish acquaintance with women through matrimonial sites and abuse them on the pretext of marriage.

He established a relationship with a 59-year-old woman of Alappuzha through the matrimonial site. An investigation revealed that she was called to a lodge in Kochi city and raped. A team led by North Inspector Anoop, comprising sub inspectors Pramod, Santhosh George, assistant sub inspectors Jaya, Sajitha, CPOs Rinu, Ajilesh and Pradeep, arrested the accused. Police said there are several similar complaints and cases against him.
