KANYAKUMARI: The bodies of Malayali sisters were found in the sea in Kanyakumari. The victims were identified as Ann Philip (35) and Meera Philip (32) from Kidangoor, Kottayam. Both of them were reported missing since Sunday. Fishermen who saw the bodies floating in the sea this morning informed the police.

The two, who were permanent residents of the United States for the past 15 years, recently returned home for the summer holidays. The sisters, along with their family members, were staying at a homestay in Kanyakumari. On the 26th of this month, they went out for a walk and failed to return. The relatives then filed a complaint with the police.

Kanyakumari Police and Coastal Police have been conducting extensive searches in the past few days. The bodies were found this morning. The bodies have been shifted to the hospital for inquest proceedings. The cause of death is not clear. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
