Nursing student dies in tragic road accident near Cochin airport road

NEDUMBASSERY: A nursing student died after a car crashed into the rear of a bike near Athani Airport Road. Ishana Ismat (20), daughter of the late Abubakar, who lived in a rented house in Madhur Pattilakunnil near Nellikkatta, Kasaragod, died in the accident.

Sarfat (27), son of Sadath Manjalil Farooq, Chembittukuzhi Muttathodi, Kasaragod, who was driving the bike, was admitted to Angamaly LF Hospital with injuries. The accident took place near the BPCL petrol pump on the Airport Road at around 4 am on Monday. The accident was caused by a speeding Swift car. Ishana fell on the road, hitting her head. She was a student of Kasaragod United Nursing School. Sarfat, who runs a fashion store in Tripunithura Statue, was Ishana’s friend. Ishana Ismat's mother is Nefisa. She has three siblings.

The car was driven by a 17-year-old minor from Aroor. He had come to Athani to attend a wedding with his family. It is reported that the minor took the car from the hotel without the family’s knowledge and was heading to a roadside eatery.
