Security concerns: TN CM Vijay to skip Kerala UDF government’s swearing-in ceremony
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay will not attend the swearing-in ceremony of the incoming UDF government in Kerala tomorrow, sources report. The decision stems from a combination of pressing official commitments and heightened security concerns.
Given the Chief Minister's massive popularity, his past visits to the state have triggered overwhelming crowd surges, creating logistical nightmares for law enforcement. Anticipating a high-profile gathering already populated by national leaders and neighbouring Chief Ministers, officials concluded that Vijay's presence could lead to uncontrollable crowd control issues and inadvertently overshadow the official proceedings.
Initial reports had indicated that the Tamil Nadu premier was extended an official invitation to the oath-taking ceremony alongside his counterparts from Telangana and Karnataka.
