Traveling machine for lottery draw

KOCHI: Lottery department plans to make the lottery draw more transparent Hereafter, the lottery machine will reach each district in a specially prepared vehicle. The department is providing an opportunity for people to see directly how the lottery is drawn instead of through the channel. In the Thiruvananthapuram district, the draw will be conducted at the studio itself. In other districts, the lottery draw vehicle will arrive.

Draw will be held in each district every day. The winner will be announced in the presence of people by traveling all over Kerala with the lottery machine. Lottery Welfare Board Chairman TB Zubair said that the work for this has started. As part of the project, the discussion for the purchase of two new machines is in progress. The machine currently in use was purchased five years ago from Punjab for Rs 12 lakh. The current machine has 18 rows of numbers. The new machine will have 50 rows. The 50-row machine is being purchased as part of increasing the number of prizes.

The project will be implemented within four months. A machine-equipped vehicle will be stopped at major junctions in each district and the draw will be conducted. As of present, the judges will be representatives of the people, celebrities, media persons, and lawyers. The live telecast of the draw will continue through television channels and YouTube. A decision as to how this should be done will be made soon.

The aim is to make people aware of how transparent and honest the lottery draw is. The reliability will increase when the draw is conducted in every district.
