Fake currency case: Jishamol shifted to mental health center

ALAPPUZHA: Agriculture officer M Jishamol, arrested in Alappuzha in fake currency case has been shifted to mental health center. She has been shifted to Thiruvananthapuram Government Mental Health Hospital following the directive of the court. Jisha, who was in Mavelikkara Jail, was taken to Thiruvananthapuram last night. Jisha had told the court that she has mental problems. However, the police suspect that it is an attempt to save her other co-accused.

Jishamol was trapped after the manager grew suspicious on the seven notes of Rs 500 brought to the bank by a shopkeeper in Alappuzha. As per the complaint of the bank manager, the investigation conducted by the South Police found that Kunjumon, domestic helper of Jisha's house, had given the notes to him. He gave counterfeit notes for Rs 3,500, the amount for the purchase of tarpaulin. Jisha gave this money to Kunjumon. Following that, Jisha's house was raided and was arrested by the Alappuzha South Police.

The police have received information that Jisha is part of the counterfeiting network. However, she has not revealed the source of the notes. Meantime, Jishamol has admitted to the police that she was aware of giving fake notes to the helper.
