Penalty for not being present at function attended by minister; panchayat member says that message was sent as a joke

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Anad panchayat member Sreeja reacted to the voice message asking Kudumbashree members to pay a fine if they did not attend the inauguration ceremony attended by Minister PA Muhammed Riyas. Sreeja, who is also a local leader of CPI, responded to the media that she shared the audio message in the group of Kudumbashree members as a joke. She stated that she had been a member of Kudumbashree for many years and only wanted everyone to participate in the function. Sreeja informed that the 'fine issue' was included as a joke but it led to controversy.

Meanwhile, there was an audio recording of the panchayat member asking the Kudumbashree members to pay a fine if they did not attend the bridge inauguration ceremony attended by the Minister of Public Works. Sreeja sent the message asking them to come for the inauguration of Nedumangad Pazhakutty Bridge.
