Baby dies after choking on breast milk, upset mother and elder son end lives by jumping into well 

IDUKKI: A woman and her elder son ended their lives by jumping into the well soon after her newborn baby died after choking on breast milk. The incident happened at Kaithapathal of Upputhara panchayat in Idukki. Her relatives said that she was upset over the incident. The baby was laid to rest yesterday.

Lija (38) of Kaithapathal and her seven-year-old son Ben Tom are the two dead. Lija was branch manager of Alacode Service Cooperative Bank.

The incident happened Thursday morning at 6 am. She took the drastic step after her relatives had gone to the church. The relatives found the two in the well in a search conducted after they came back from the church.
