Attack on housewife in Pattoor: Police yet to arrest accused

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police have not yet arrested the accused who tried to sexually assault and torture a housewife at Moolavilakom in Patoor, Thiruvananthapuram. It is alleged that the police did not conduct any significant investigation except for examining the CCTV footage. The CCTV footage showed that the accused, who was wearing a helmet, went from Moolavilakom to the Mulavana region on a scooter. Nothing was found to identify the number of the vehicle. Based on the information provided by the complainant, the police are conducting an investigation into those accused in similar previous cases.

The CCTV footage from other nearby areas will also be examined in the coming days. Two police officers were suspended the other day for being complacent in the investigation. The security employee who was working at the nearby computer centre at the time of the incident is not willing to testify and describe the incident.
