Nikhat Zareen creates history; third gold for India in world boxing championship

NEW DELHI: India wins its third gold at the World Boxing Championship in New Delhi. Nikhat Zareen won gold in women's boxing. Nikhat Zareen, who competed in the women's 50 kg category, defeated Vietnam's Nguyen Thi Tam in the final. This is her second gold in world championship.
Earlier, Nikhat also won gold in the 2022 World Boxing Championship. Nikhat Zareen is the second Indian woman athlete to win consecutive gold medals at the World Boxing Championships. Mary Kom is the first Indian woman to win back-to-back gold medals at the World Boxing Championships. Nikhat Zareen also won gold in the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
