THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Government has produced an affidavit in High Court that says they are not responsible for paying salaries to KSRTC employees. In the affidavit given by the Finance Department, the government pointed out that it is the KSRTC that should pay the employees.

The government had proposed a set of modifications to make KSRTC efficient, but the employee unions were not ready to accept it. KSRTC is the most inefficient transport corporation in South India. The government's affidavit also states that it is not liable to pay salaries to employees under an inefficient corporation.

At the same time, KSRTC has transferred the female conductor who protested for not getting her salary, by wearing a badge. The action was taken against Akhila S Nair, a conductor of Vaikom depot. Defamation of the government and KSRTC is shown as the reason for the transfer. Akhila has been transferred from the Vaikom depot to Pala unit. The footage of Akhila protesting wearing a badge was circulated on social media. Akhila was wearing a badge that said 'Unpaid Service 44th Day'.
