THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Digital resurvey, which was planned to be completed in four years, has been completed in 15 villages. Three villages have been notified under Section 9(2) of the Survey Boundaries Act, while the remaining 13 villages will be notified soon. The notification was issued in Ujar-Ulwar (Kasaragod), Azhikode (Kannur), and Veyloor (Thiruvananthapuram) villages. The survey was conducted in 38,286 hectares (10.60 percent) of 200 villages identified in the first phase.

The portal to provide land-related services of Survey, Revenue, and Registration departments in a single window system will be operational in all 15 villages by June. The digital resurvey started on November 1 and for this, 1500 surveyors and 3200 helpers were hired on a contract basis. The process is expedited by setting up a course control center with advanced facilities. The survey is to be conducted on 3,61,248 hectares in 200 villages. Thiruvananthapuram tops the survey - 4313 hectares. Idukki (3907) and Kannur (3455) districts are in the second and third positions. Resurvey is being conducted in 1550 out of 1666 villages in the state.

Section 9(2) Notification

The notification is to display the information for inspection by the people once a survey is completed in a village. It is available at the village office. It can also be displayed in public places to avoid congestion in the village office. Since it is a digital survey, the property owner can see all the information on the screen with the help of a computer.
