These Indians are attending King Charles’ coronation ceremony in London

NEW DELHI: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar and Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor are among those attending the coronation of Britain's King Charles III. Dhankar and his wife Sudesh Dhankar had arrived in London the previous day. Reportedly, Sonam Kapoor will Introduce the Commonwealth Virtual Choir. The actress is the only Indian celebrity to be invited to the function.

Two representatives of dabbawalas, who have gained global attention by delivering lunch from their homes to people at work in Mumbai, are also participating in the event. The dabbawalas will present Charles with the famous turban and shawl of Pune's Warkari community. Charles had visited the dabbawalas during his visit to India in 2003. They were also invited to the Charles-Camilla wedding.

37-year-old Pune-born architect Sourabh Phadke, who studied at Charles Foundation's Building Craft Program and The Prince Foundation School of Traditional Arts, last year's Prince's Trust Global Award winner Delhi-born Gulfsha (33), Jai Patel an Indian-origin Canadian who completed Canada's Prince Trust's Youth Employment Program last year and Dr Issac Mathai, the Malayalee chairman of Soukhya Holistic Health Centre in Bengaluru, where Kamila comes for treatment, have also been invited to the ceremony from India.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will read from the biblical book Colossians at the coronation ceremony. He and his wife Aksata Murthy will lead the flag hoisting procession. Lord Indrajit Singh will represent the Sikhs and Lord Syed Kamall of Indo-Guyanese heritage will represent the Muslims at the coronation ceremony.
