'2018' set to become highest-grossing Malayalam film in history

Within one week of its release, Jude Anthony Joseph directed '2018' has grossed more than 50 crores at the box office. According to the makers, the movie will soon enter into the 100-crore club and will stop its run after kissing the Rs 150 crores collection. The achievement is no mean feat and will have the movie's name in the annals of Malayalam love history. A lion’s share of movies released this year never made it to at least two weeks in theatres. Considering this, the theatre owners are jubilant over '2018' running packed houses for two weeks straight.

'2018' has got Rs 28.15 crore collection from overseas. Across India, the movie has got Rs 2.3 crore collection. The total collection is Rs 55.6 crores. Actor Asif Ali who played a prominent role in the film shared the news about the film crossing the 50 crore mark. If reaching 150 crores, '2018' will have the laurel for the first Malayalam film to achieve this noble feat. This is arguably Jude Anthany Josephs's best creation to date.
