Uthradom Thirunal's daughter Parvathidevi Varma passes away

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Parvathidevi Varma (76), daughter of Uthradom Tirunal Marthanda Varma, who was the Elaya Rajah of the Travancore royal family, passed away on Tuesday night. She breathed her last at around 11.45 pm on Tuesday while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Pattom due to illness. Her mother is the late Radha Devi.

Travancore royal family members Pooyam Thirunal Gouri Parvathi Bai, Aswathi Thirunal Gouri Lakshmi Bai, K. Muraleedharan MP, former MP N Peethambara Kurup, CPI District Secretary Mangode Radhakrishnan, members of the Madras Regiment of the Pangode Army Camp and others paid their last respects to the body which was kept for public viewing at the palace. The funeral took place at 2 pm on the palace grounds. Brother Padmanabhan performed the last rites.
