24 ministers inducted into Siddaramaiah cabinet, Siddaramiah in charge of finance; Shivakumar did not get Home dept

BENGALURU: The swearing-in ceremony of 24 cabinet ministers was held at the Raj Bhavan in Bengaluru on Saturday. With this, the strength of the cabinet increased to 34, including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. Siddaramaiah, who was preferred by the national leadership for the post of Chief Minister, got a similar preference in portfolio allocation as well. Siddaramaiah is in charge of departments such as finance and cabinet affairs. PCC Chairman DK Shivakumar has been given the portfolios of Urban Development and Irrigation along with the post of Deputy Chief Minister. G Parameshwara will be in charge of the Home Department.

Lakshmi Hebbalkar, the only woman minister in the cabinet, has been given the charge of the Women and Child Development Department. Laxman Savadi and former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar did not get a place in the cabinet. NA Haris, a strong supporter of DK Shivakumar, also did not get a ministerial post.
