Lightning kills woman in Wayanad

MEPPADI: A woman died after being struck by lightning in Chembothara, Wayanad. The deceased is Simi (35), wife of Kollivayal Colony native Sivadas. She was on the terrace of the house collecting dried clothes when she was struck by lightning. The incident happened around 5 pm yesterday.

Although neighbours rushed Simi to the private hospital in Kalpetta, her life could not be saved. The body is kept in the mortuary of the private hospital. After post-mortem, the body will be cremated at Chembothara crematorium. Children: Siva Priya, Vishnudas, Sreejith.
