Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan holds meeting with Cuban President; understanding to cooperate with Kerala
HAVANA: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who arrived in Cuba as part of his foreign tour, met with President Miguel Díaz-Canel on Thursday. Miguel Díaz-Canel said that Cuba will cooperate with Kerala in various fields such as sports, health and biotechnology.
Kerala's achievements in social progress are exemplary. The President also said that the Cuban cabinet will discuss the areas of cooperation with Kerala, including digital university and technical communication between universities and student exchange programs. He also said that he will visit Kerala next time he visits India.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan congratulated Miguel Díaz-Canel on getting elected as the President of Cuba for the second time. The Chief Minister also recalled his visit to Havana in 1994 for the International Cuban Solidarity Conference. The Chief Minister said that Cuba can cooperate with Kerala in the fields of trade, education, sports and health services. Cuba has made great strides in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.
