Nikhil Thomas’ fake certificate; Principal will be behind bars if any student has shown any irregularity, warns Kerala Uty VC

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala University VC Dr Mohan Kunummal came forward with a warning in the incident of Nikhil Thomas getting admission for M.Com after producing a fake certificate. He said that whoever shows any irregularity will be booked.

He asked how a failed student of Kayamkulam MSM College got admission for M.Com. The VC also warned that if any student of the college shows any irregularity, then the principal will be behind the bars.

The VC said that an explanation has been sought from the college and strict action will be taken if the reply is not satisfactory. Meantime, it is heard that Kalinga University will not lodge a complaint with the Raipur Police in the fake certificate controversy. The decision of the university is that the investigation by the Kerala Police is enough.

The Kayamkulam police had yesterday registered a case against Nikhil Thomas. A case was registered on charges of forgery and fraud. The authorities of Kalinga University told Kayamkulam police, who reached Raipur as part of the investigation, that Nikhil's degree certificate is fake.
