THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: V.S. Achuthanandan, the Chairman of Kerala Administrative Reforms has come to the fore criticizing the govt regarding the Nedumkandam custodial death. He said that the police are coming serious mistakes frequently and steps should be taken to avoid such incidents. One should open their eyes and see what would happen if the police are granted judicial power, he said at the Legislative Assembly.

“The Assembly shouldn’t evaluate a department based on an isolated incident. One should open their eyes and what would happen if the police are granted judicial power. Administration cannot shy away from the responsibilities of mistakes. Some officials responsible for faults were punished. Representatives also cannot stay away from their responsibility which is ensuring that faults don’t happen”, V.S. said at the Legislative Assembly.
