THRISSUR: An excise officer got the information about Sheela Sunny, the owner of a beauty parlour in Chalakudy, trapped in a drug case and jailed, through an internet call. The person informed the Irinjalakuda excise circle inspector that Sheela has LSD stamps in her bag, through a WhatsApp call.
The caller introduced himself as Sathish. He said there will be stamps in Sheela's bag or vehicle and could seize them if gone before 4:30 pm. The same man had called them a week before this, and asked if he would be arrested if given information of drugs. Excise Inspector Satheesan, who arrested Sheela, disclosed this to the investigation team.
Meantime, Sheela Sunny said that she suspects her close relative and a student in Bengaluru, behind her arrest in the fake drug case. The woman used to visit Sheela's house in Pariyaram. She had come before the arrest and had stayed in one room. Sheela clarified in her statement that there was no enmity. Ernakulam Excise Crime Branch has intensified search for her.
Sheela alleged that the excise jailed her for 72 days in the alleged fake case. They fabricated a fake report mentioning that she went out and sold LSD stamps. The excise crime branch started the investigation after filing a complaint with the chief minister. Sheela was released from jail on May 10 after the lab result revealed that it was LSD stamp. Sheela is planning to file a defamation case against her arrest.
