Takes pen worth Rs 60,000 of accused, charged with KAAPA; recommends departmental action against circle inspector

PALAKKAD: A departmental action has been recommended against the police officer who took the pen of the accused charged with Kerala Anti-Social Activities Prevention Act (KAPPA). The district police chief submitted a report demanding departmental action against Thrithala circle inspector. The allegation was leveled against Thrithala SHO Vijayakumar. SP has written to North Zone IG seeking action.


The complaint is that the SHO took a pen worth Rs 60,000 from the accused, charged under KAPPA Act in last June. When taken into custody, the pen taken from him as part of the investigation was neither entered nor returned in the GD. The action was taken on the complaint filed by the accused Faisal.
