Cricket icon Kapil Dev handcuffed, dragged by gang; Gautam Gambhir raises concern

NEW DELHI: A legend, former cricketer, world cup winning captain and recipient of the country's fourth highest honour, the Padma Shri, Kapil Dev is the man of the times. However, concern loomed on Monday afternoon after a video emerged showing Kapil Dev being dragged by a gang with his face strapped and handcuffed in the back. By evening the fans grew more anxious after former cricketer and Delhi MP Gautam Gambhir shared the same video on X platform aggravating concern.

In the video, Kapil Dev, with his hands tied behind his back and a cloth stuffed in his mouth, is forcibly taken inside a building by two men. Gautham Gambhir, who shared the video, asked "whether these scenes are real ?".

Meanwhile, some sections of social media clarified that Kapil Dev’s video was part of an advertisement where the makers are fielding new tropes to garner attraction. Anyway, fans are still restless about the video and are hoping that the cricketer himself will issue a clarification. Kapil Dev was last seen along with PM Modi and Sachin Tendulkar for the stone-laying ceremony at the Varanasi cricket stadium.
