First plane with 230 Indians to reach tomorrow; Kerala house opens control room to help returning Malayalees
NEW DELHI: The first flight carrying 230 Indians as part of the evacuation mission from Israel will arrive tomorrow morning. Most of them are students. The Union Ministry of External Affairs had announced 'Operation Ajay' to bring back Indians from Israel. The Ministry of External Affairs said that although they are in communication with Indians trapped in Gaza, their rescue mission is difficult.
The Ministry of External Affairs announced that the first chartered flight which is part of Operation Ajay will return to India by midnight. Government sources informed that the journey is free. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar assessed the preparations. There are about 18,000 Indians in Israel. The Ministry of External Affairs said they will use the Air Force aircraft if necessary.
A 24-hour control room has been opened at Kerala House in Delhi to help Malayalees returning from Israel. A help desk at the airport will receive the Malayalees and coordinate further operations. Kerala House Resident Commissioner Saurabh Jain informed that all preparations are being completed to facilitate 'Operation Ajay' activities.
