AHMEDABAD: While the Indian cricket team is gearing up to take on its arch-rivals Pakistan in the group stage of the ICC Cricket World Cup tomorrow, a section of social media users are urging to boycott the match. The boycott call is being made over Paksitan's involvement in the terrorist activities that took place recently. Last month, two soldiers and a senior police officer were killed in an encounter with terrorists in Anantnag in Kashmir.

Pakistan cricket team had received a warm reception when it reached India for its World Cup campaign. This was questioned by a section of social media users. Many people are now criticising the BCCI after it announced that a special musical program will be held in the Narendra Modi Stadium ahead of the match between India and Pakistan.

Some fans are saying that they will not tolerate the actions done by the BCCI and its secretary Jay Shah in honour of the Pakistan team. They also pointed out the fact that Indian soldiers were bravely fighting against Pakistan-supported terrorists on the border.

'Cricket match is nothing in front of our Soldiers. Enemies are always enemies. Pakistani doesn't deserve this type of welcome,' a fan wrote on X.

Some even criticised singers Shankar Mahadevan, Arijit Singh and Sukhwinder Singh who will be performing in the musical program. Pakistan captain Babar Azam had expressed gratitude for the warm welcome they received in India.
