NEW DELHI: Former India cricketer S Sreesanth has been served a legal notice by the Legends League Cricket (LLC) commissioner over his verbal spat with Gautam Gambhir during a match in the ongoing LLC 2023 tournament.

LLC commissioner issued the notice pointing out that Sreesanth was guilty of breaching the contract while playing in the T20 tournament. The notice also stated that the LLC will initiate talks with Sreesanth only if he removed the videos criticizing Gambhir from social media. The match umpires have also submitted a report regarding the controversy. However, Sreesanth's allegation that he was called a 'fixer' by Gambhir has not been mentioned in the report.

The two former cricketers engaged in a verbal spat during the Legends League cricket match held at the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium in Surat the other day. Teammates and umpires had to intervene to stop both of them. The war of words between the two took place during the eliminator match between India Capitals and Gujarat Giants.

During the match, Sreesanth had stared at Gambhir after being hit for a six and a four by Gambhir. Angered by this, Gambhir repeatedly called Sreesanth a fixer. After the match, Sreesanth posted a video on his social media page accusing Gambhir of making obscene remarks against him and the umpires during the match.
