Physical assault of differently abled person; 'Will police check hands and feet during lathi charge?'

THRISSUR: LDF convenor E P Jayarajan asked whether the police would check if those standing against them had legs and arms during a lathi charge. This remark was made in the case of physical assault of differently abled Youth Congress leader.

Minister V Sivankutty labeled Governor Khan's behaviour as challenging both the people and the government of Kerala. He criticized the Governor for making inflammatory remarks and suggested that his actions were supportive of the UDF opposition. Sivankutty highlighted the adverse impact of the Governor's words on the state's democratic fabric.

Further criticism came from Minister K Radhakrishnan who accused the Governor of hindering Kerala's progress. Radhakrishnan emphasized the Governor's perceived alignment with the Sangh Parivar and his involvement in street confrontations amid student strikes aggravating tensions.

The ministers collectively asserted that the Governor's actions were attempting to impede the state's development, causing disruptions and hindrances to governance.

They also highlighted the aspirations of the LDF government to uplift over 64,000 underprivileged individuals by November 1, 2024 expressing their commitment to the welfare of the people despite the ongoing challenges.
