'You are really smart'; CM Pinarayi Vijayan meets Abigail at Kollam NKS event

KOLLAM: “ You are smart...should study well” CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s words fell into the ears of a wondered Abigail who was standing along with her brother Jonathan. The CM later patted on the back of Jonathan praising him as a “Hero”. The Chief Minister affectionately inquired about their studies and hobbies among other things.

On the 27th of last month, the six-year-old girl Abigail was abducted from Pooyappally when the ‘Nava Kerala Sadas’ was continuing in Malappuram. The Chief Minister frequently connected with top officials and sought information on the matter. On the next day, when the CM was travelling inside the bus, the message reached him about some college students finding Abigail in the Asramam maidan in Kollam. The chief minister was exalted when he informed the accompanying ministers about the news.

The investigation team was able to catch the kidnappers through the information provided by Abigail’s brother Jonathan, who showed valor in fighting the kidnappers alone. It was after this incident that the CM expressed his desire to meet the two children when the NKS event reached Kollam. As per suggestion, the children came to meet the Chief Minister who was staying at the Kollam Beach Hotel at 10.45 am on Thursday.

In the evening, the Chief Minister gave gifts to Abigail and Jonathan at the Nava Kerala Sadas in Chadayamangalam.
