'Women's Reservation Bill will change India, Thank you PM Modi'; veteran actress Shobana speaks highly of PM Modi

THRISSUR: Actress Shobana showered high praise for the central government initiatives that focused largely on empowering women in India. The two-time national award-winning actress was talking at the ‘Sthreesakthi Modikoppam’ event organized by BJP in Thekkinkadu Maidan. Shobana remarked it was the first time in her life that she had seen so many women attending a single event.

“ Even after much transformation, women's participation is low in various sectors. I hope that the Women's Reservation Bill will be able to change that. We have only one Shakuntala Devi, one Kalpana Chawla and one Kiran Bedi. That will change. We live in a time of strong leadership. The Women's Reservation Bill echoes determination. As a Bharathiya, I see this bill with great excitement and happiness. Thank you for allowing me to share the stage with Modi and special thanks to the Prime minister for passing this bill’ Shobana said.

Maryakutty, who carried out a protest with a pitch pot, Indian Olympic Association President P T Usha MP, Indian women's cricket team's Malayali player Minnumani, singer Vaikam Vijayalakshmi, Textile magnate Beena Kannan and others participated in the event.
