Holiday declared tomorrow in six Kerala districts; KSEB to remain closed

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Six districts in the state will observe a holiday on Monday on the occasion of Pongal. The holiday is only for districts that share borders with Tamil Nadu. Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Palakkad and Wayanad districts will have a holiday on Monday.

The Electricity Board informed that KSEB offices in these districts will also observe a holiday tomorrow. KSEB cash counters will not be functioning but consumers can pay their bills through online portals.

South Western Railway has announced special train services to manage the rush of passengers on the occasion of Pongal. A special train service will be run between Yeshwantpur and Kochuveli. The reservation for this train has already started on Saturday at 8 am.

Train number 06235 Yeshwantpur Kochuveli Festival Express Special will leave Yeshwantpur at 11:55 PM on Saturday and reach Kochuveli at 7:10 PM on Sunday. 06236 Kochuveli-Yeshwantpur Festival Express Special will leave Kochuveli at 10 pm on the 14th and reach Yeshwantpur at 4:30 pm on the 15th.
